At AMA Detroit, diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of who we are. Our commitment to these values is unwavering  across our chapter operations. They are central to our mission and to our responsibility as marketers.

We know that having varied perspectives helps generate better ideas and ways of reaching diverse communities and incorporating diverse voices. We strive to ensure we include diverse audiences across metro Detroit in our membership, on our board, and in our profession.

AMA National DEI Pledge

To Advance Social Justice, Racial Equity & Anti-Racism

The DEI Pledge was written in the 2020-2021 chapter year as leaders realized the needs for a guiding framework to align our commitment to creating a better community for all volunteers and members.  While the original pledge (following a heightened global call for action in 2020 and BLM awareness) was intended to focus on race and understanding where disparities existed, chapters are now exploring how else we can unite as one AMA to amplify ALL under-represented voices to create a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable future across all our chapters and activities. We recognize the need to acknowledge our role, the gaps that result from historical inaction, and the critical actions required to mitigate the current status quo. It's an on-going conversation, and we here at AMA Detroit are committed to listen, learn, and incorporate action wherever possible to advance equity and inclusion.
