Twenty-five years ago big brands controlled the message through advertising and big media companies controlled the airwaves and printing factories. Technology has changed the game. Consumers can ignore advertising and irrelevant content at will. To break through the clutter, brands need to tell remarkable stories that are worth listening to…and they are becoming the media in the process. Preview here: The Story of Content Marketing

The Continuous Improvement Cycle: Maximizing Impact and Minimizing Risk in the Age of Big Data
Monday, April 28, 2014 (6-8pm)
Keynote Speaker:
Gregory Mishkin, VP, Research & Consulting, at Market Strategies International
Big data research uses large quantities of data to determine what behaviors a broad customer base has exhibited, essentially determining "what" these customers do. Traditional market research methods rely on self-reported measures such as surveys and focus groups to identify the motivations and attitudes of a targeted customer base, or in other words, "why" customers feel the way that they do. This presentation introduces a novel Continuous Improvement Cycle which serves as a framework for how marketers can use market research to better understand what customers are doing, why they are doing it, and most importantly how businesses can change their customers’ actions. Implementing the Continuous Improvement Cycle, marketers can maximize business impact by targeting messages, promotions and products – while minimizing risk by determining in advance how successful and impactful these marketing efforts will be.
